Nyah's Army

On Friday, May 26th, Nyah finished her last day of 6th grade and just like other middle schoolers, was excited that summer was finally here!  She'd had a series of headaches that were brushed off by her physicians as nothing serious, but nothing can dull that last day of school excitement!  After catching a photo memory of the day, her mom took her for an annual eye exam at our local mall with plans of shopping for summer clothes afterwards.  However, it was at that appointment that it was discovered that Nyah had a brain tumor.  She has since had emergency surgery, is receiving quality care at the hospital, but has a long road of recovery ahead of her. Basic things we all take for granted, Nyah will have to re-learn, such as eye function and how to walk.  Her summer will look much different then what she had planned when walking out of school with her mom on that last day.  

Nyah's mom is a single mom who works hard to support herself and her daughter. She is honestly one of the hardest working women I know.  Without even considering the associated medical bills for Nyah, her mom just started a new job so does not qualify for leave. Let's make sure that Nyah's mom is able to focus fully on Nyah's recovery, as the last thing any parent should have to worry about in a situation like this is finances.   

It's time to rally and support this momma and her daughter on their road to recovery!
