Nwankwo Family Hurricane Relief

Human suffering comes into all of our lives.  For me, it came when my infant son Jarom passed away unexpectedly.  For my friend, Charles Nwankwo, it came when Hurricane Harvey inundated his home with flood waters. At the time of my son’s passing, I experienced an outpouring of kindness from friends, neighbors, coworkers, and strangers.  Some gave of their time, some gave of their money, all gave of their hearts.  And their gifts made a profound difference in my life and the life of my family.  Their gifts set me on the road to healing.

For the past two years, Charles has worked at Chandler-Gilbert Community College and returned home to his wife and son in Houston as often as he could. He had hopes of selling his Houston home so that his family could be reunited in Arizona.  And then the hurricane hit, filling his home with flood water and dashing his dreams. With no flood insurance, Charles was left alone to begin to rebuild his life.  Or was he?

Friends, coworkers, and strangers are uniting in kindness to help Charles rebuild his home, his life, and his dreams. You and me, as insignificant as we may be, can be part of his life-changing miracle.  Let’s come together and make a difference.
