Nutmeg's Operation
Donation protected
Anyone who knows us knows that our animals are family. During the holiday season we suddenly find our family in need. Unexpected illness and expenses have put one of our guinea pigs, Nutmeg, in dire straits. She is currently fighting for her life against a very large, unidentified growth on her uterus. The mass is pushing all of her organs aside causing a high white blood cell count, lethargy, digestive problems, and hair/weight loss. The vet tells us that at best it is a uterus infection, at worst its a cancerous tumor. Either way, spaying Nutmeg is the only viable, long-term solution, but it is a pricey procedure made all the more complicated by her fragile state.
We try to provide the healthiest, happiest life we can to our pets. We have made it a point of pride to rescue animals that need homes and to only take them in when we know we can fully support them. It pains us deeply that despite all our planning and best efforts we were unprepared for this emergency. We are humbly asking the community to do what you can. Any help that you can give is appreciated.
