Help Rebuild Clara's Throne and Sled - Act III Set Improvement Fundraising Drive.
For 45 years the RCB has performed the Nutcracker with impeccable sets. Please help keep the tradition alive by supporting our fundraising campaign to make improvements to certain pieces of the Nutcracker Act III set and gather funds for a near-future set rebuild.
Clara's Throne and Clara's Sled need immediate re-building and resources will go to these two items first, so that they can debut for the 45th Anniversary, this December.
Any monies not spent on these goals will be put towards advance purchase of the materials needed for the future, we hope soon, re-building of a full Act III set.
For more than forty years the Rockville Civic Ballet (RCB), based in Rockville, MD, has been bringing the art of dance to the Washington Metro area. Our yearly production of the holiday classic, The Nutcracker, has become a Rockville family tradition. The set we had used for many years was irreversibly damaged while in storage. We are asking for your help in paying for the costs of rebuilding to show your support for community-based performance.
We are a diverse group of committed volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, who have in common our love of ballet. RCB's productions provide the opportunity for all members of our community to experience the joy of performing on stage.
Through our effort in building the new set, our volunteers are learning about the important behind-the scenes work needed to stage a ballet. We are doing our part, donating labor and the materials we can to this project, but funds are much needed to help us complete it!!
The Friends of Rockville Civic Ballet, a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit, is coordinating this Go Fund Me campaign to help the RCB. Your donations are tax deductible.
Any and all proceeds from this campaign that exceed direct rebuild costs will be applied to purchasing proper storage materials for our new set, repairing or replacing old costumes and replenishing needed supplies. Nothing you donate will go to waste. Please help keep this active cultural organization alive and thriving into the future!
