Nursing Trip to South Africa 2018
Donation protected
This May, eight Villanova nursing students and two professors will travel to Durban, South Africa for two weeks to provide care to the people. While Durban is an important manufacturing hub in South Africa and a major spot of tourism, a large portion of the population is not well off. Many children and adults are diagnosed with AIDS and thousands of children are left as orphans. We will be caring for both of these groups of people through our clinical rotation at 1000 Hills Community Helpers, St. Leo’s Primary School, St. Theresa’s Orphanage, and Hillcrest AIDS Respite Centre. At these sites we will provide physical assessments, dispense medication, provide feminine hygiene products and deliver common healthcare knowledge. In order for our group to purchase and provide the supplies necessary at each clinical site, your financial support would be appreciated. Please consider helping us to provide the care that the South African population desperately needs. Thank you in advance!!
