A Capella Academy 2022

Hi, my name is Diane Li and I am a 16 year old singer from Ft Lauderdale, Florida.

I recently auditioned for a 10-day vocal/music camp called A Capella Academy in Los Angeles, and was accepted into the program! Only the top 13% are accepted in, so I was beyond excited when I found out I had made the cut!

Music has been one of my passions since I was little, and its hard to imagine my life without it. I’ve been singing, dancing, and acting since I was 5 years old. From singing in concerts, performing in musicals, writing my own music, to singing for family and friends, I have never felt a dull moment in my life surrounding music. I currently am on musical theater scholarship at my private high school, and absolutely fell in love with group singing when I auditioned and joined the A Capella choir at my school. There is something so empowering and uplifting about singing and sharing a piece of music with others, it magnifies the joy of music so much more. Attending A Capella Academy would be a dream of mine to meet and collaborate with other people with the same interests, and learn from amazing and talented professionals.

Unfortunately, this is just not something my family can afford at the moment.

The cost of the camp is $1995, not including the plane tickets to LA and back to FL. With my brother off at college, my Dad working in a different state (needing to pay rent for his apartment), and my college tuition for the next few years, my family could not afford this opportunity without it putting a financial strain.
