My transition
Hi all,
I never wanted to do this but I’m afraid I’m at a loss. I've waited patiently on the transgender waiting list for five years. For some reason, I slipped through the cracks and waited 4 years to be seen by the clinic. Luckily before lockdown I was signed off on testoterone that I have now been on for almost a year. This has made huge changes to my appearance however I'm still left in limbo. My dream was to have transitioned by 25 so I could finally start my life.
Every day in this body is hell, I just want to rip my own skin off. Last year led to another failed suicide attempt, I'm just tired of fighting and I just want to be me now.
Due to the massive backlog the NHS is now facing I now feel my only option is to try and go privately for my top surgery. The average cost for top surgery is £6,000. This would mean I could have my surgery done within 2 weeks of my consultation! I know its not the end to my journey, but its a massive start that will impact my life hugely.
I've always felt awkward about doing a go fund me page especially in these times so I really do appreciate all of the support, donations, people sharing my story and I hope that me sharing my story can also help others who are going through a similar situation.

I really do appreciate the work that the gender identity clinic do and has done for me. They are massively underfunded and under appreciated.
