Dear Friends and Family,
For those of you who know my wife Carrie, she has struggled with kidney disease (Medullary Sponge Kidney) for the last 20+ years. Well we have come to a point where we are struggling with and are asking for your help. Carrie’s right kidney MUST be removed due to infection and function. She has struggled with her right kidney for the last 10 years and the last 7 months have been the most difficult. She ended up with a kidney infection back in January that has never healed and after numerous tests we have found out that her kidney is failing and failing fast. She was told at her last appointment that she needs to remove the kidney as soon as possible before the infection spreads to her brain and/or heart. She has gone through numerous procedures, tests, surgeries and has been on multiple medications over the last 10 years and this has drained all funds we have available. I have cashed out portions of my retirement and used all of our savings. Unfortunately, she has not been at her job for a year and she is struggling to fight it until this January but is losing the battle. We don’t ask for a lot in life but for her to have the surgery she will miss 8-10 weeks of work which will put us in a rough situation. With 3 kids at home and one going to college we simply can’t afford to stay afloat for those 8-10 weeks. There comes a time in life where you have to swallow your pride and ask for help. I want my wife to see her daughters get married someday. I want her to watch her son graduate from school. I simply just want to grow old with her. Our goal is to raise $8,000 but anything will help. The funds will go towards her existing medical expenses/tests, the upcoming kidney removal and help cover her loss of income. We will forever be grateful and you will never know what it means to us.
