Gather for Garren- cancer patient

Donation protected
In December 2016, my dad,Garren was diagnosed with skin cancer which resulted in immediate surgery. A failed attempt to remove all the cancer has forced him to go on FMLA at his place of employment. He is unable to perform his duties at work based on complications. During his follow up appt. red flags came up and his oncologist suspected the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes. The Nuclear Stress Test (radioactive dye) determined that his lymph nodes need to be removed. After that surgery, although he was still in pain, he tried to return to work, as he had depleted his savings by this point. During this time he had applied for Social Security Disability but was denied. Thru the pain of having to sit for long periods at work, he managed to work around 27 hours per week. Then in August 2017, he was experiencing loss of appetite, extreme weight loss, nausea, fever, congestion, stomach pain, etc. All of this made it near impossible to complete an entire day of work, further adding to his financial worries. When he noticed a grape size lump at the incision site, he mentioned to his Dr which was dismissed as swelling from unhealed tissue. His symptoms persisted when the lump grew and grew without gaining interest from the Dr. He was no longer able to sit at his desk due to the increasing pain. He saw the Dr numerous times with no answers. His next appt was Jan 8th but before he could go to this appt the now lime size lump ruptured. He raced to the ER underwent emergency surgery for an abscess and they installed a wound vac system. He was sent home but went back and forth to the ER as the now open wound was getting worse and even had another rupture. He under went another surgery, as it seemed each time he saw every Dr had a different idea about how to treat and what it was. During the last surgery they tested the stomach cavity and found it positive for cancer. They also did further testing and found numerous spots with a mass. There is a board of oncologists, surgeons and plastic surgeon involved now trying to come up with the best surgical solution. Whether it be chemo, radiation, surgery....we are waiting on pins and needles. No matter the decision there are various complications based on the type and location of this cancer. One of the oncologists told him this will be the hardest thing physically and mentally that he will ever endure. Garren's FMLA was denied and he lost his job as a result of all of this. He has no income and has depleted all his savings and all that he has. His medical expenses, day to day living expenses and caretaking are all more than our family can afford. We are doing as much as we can. Garren is bedridden at this point while waiting for the Drs to devise the best way to attack this unusual situation. We are asking for any help at this time, to help him get through this difficult time. He has reapplied for disability, but as most know that can take months even years. Thank you for reading and sharing my dads story. Any help is greatly appreciated.
