Hannah's Medical Expenses

Hydrocephalus: water on the brain- the fluid buildup causes pressure on the brain and can lead to migraines, impaired vision, cognitive difficulties, loss of coordination, and incontinence.

Rare: fewer than 200,000 US cases per year.

Treatment: Most often, a tube (shunt) inserted into the ventricle to drain excess fluid.

This is the diagnosis Hannah got today from her MRI. We are seeing a neurologist as soon as possible, but she has a long road ahead of her. We have medical insurance, but the total out of pocket is very high, and paired with the other expenses, we will not be able to keep up with what she'll need to get through this. All healing thoughts and prayers will be greatly appreciated, and every dollar helps. 

UPDATE: 
The surgery Hannah had in August is not working so she will be having a second surgery on January 3rd. We are still paying medical expenses from the first surgery, and this second falls just after the new year, so our full deductable will be due again. Please help in any way you can. Hannah just turned 15 and is looking forward to getting ehr learners permit and learning to drive. Please keep the prayers adn positive thoughts coming!! 

First Surgery information:  
Hannah will be having Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy (ETV) surgery scheduled for August 23rd. The doctor will shave about a 3 inch section of her hair, make an incision about an inch and a half long, drill a small hole through her skull, then guide a camera into her brain so he can make a new path for the spinal fluid in her brain to drain. The surgery will take roughly 2 hours and recovery time in approximately 2 weeks. Please keep prayers and positive thoughts coming!!

Hannah is 14 years old and starting her freshman year in high school. She has a lot of things to look forward to, and this unexpected turn of events was not in her high school plans!
