Nova Fashion Show 2017

Every year, high school students at Toronto French School produce a fashion show to raise funds to support a charity in Toronto. This is a student-run show, meaning that there will be students managing the staging, clothing will be hand-made by our very talented designers, hair and makeup will be done by students, and the people that make sure that the show runs smoothly are also students. This year’s fashion show will be held in late November and we will be supporting a charity that is very dear to our hearts, The Maddie Project .
The Maddie Project was founded in 2015, after the sudden death of our close friend due to mental health issues. Madeline Grace German Coulter was one of our classmates at Toronto French School. She always brought laughter and energy to everyone. The Maddie Project’s mission is to “let no youth or their family suffer without help from depression or other mental health concerns. [Their] goal is to transform access to support for youth suffering from depression and mental health concerns in our community.” Due to the stigma surrounding mental health, we have decided to raise awareness to this issue, especially at this time when mental health is so relevant in our community of youth.
Since this project is not funded by our school, we would graciously accept any contributions. This will help us with paying for materials such as fabric for the designers, hair and makeup products for our photoshoots, and the renting of equipment for the actual show. The leftover funds will all be donated to The Maddie Project, where they will be able to help continue to form “Maddie’s Healing Garden” in collaboration with the North York General Hospital.
Larger contributors will be featured on the official posters that we will be designing for the publicity of our show and other significant contributors will be appearing on the catalogue that we will be printing. You will also be receiving VIP tickets to the show.
