Northern California Artist Relief Amid COVID-19

Northern California is one of the hardest hit areas by the COVID-19 coronavirus. With every event being cancelled from March through April and potentially months into the future, musicians and artists are in desperate need of the community’s support.
Even when the economy is at its strongest, most musicians and artists depend on every single live performance, event, and gathering in order to make a living. If one of those scheduled events gets cancelled, it makes for rough times. Many artists are independent contractors with little to no savings to weather the smallest of storms, much less what we find ourselves fighting through currently.
Having been part of the Northern California community for over a decade now, I’ve met and worked with so many talented musicians and artists.
If you support the arts, whether it’s live music or other art forms, and you’re able to pitch in and support the community through this uncertain time, please do. All donations will go directly to the musicians and artists in need in the Northern California area.
This fundraiser is specifically for those artists that have had events cancelled due to COVID-19. The amount of funding raised and the number of requests we receive from musicians and artists will determine how many people we can help. We hope to help as many people as possible. All types of artists may apply. To meet the criteria, artists must live in Northern California and have had shows/events cancelled due to COVID-19.
Where your funds will go: 100% of your donations will go directly to artists that have lost income due to cancellations and venue closings as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding will help the artist with food, rent, medical expenses, etc. Our criteria in determining the amount of assistance the artist will receive is based on the amount of income lost by each artist. Depending on the total donations received, we will be giving a minimum of $200 and a maximum of $750 to each recipient.
How the artists will receive the funds: Our selected payment method is PayPal. For those that do not have a PayPal account, we will send checks to the mailing addresses provided in the relief applications.
