2020 has been and continues to be a difficult year for many in the town. With your help, we can make the town sparkle that little bit brighter.
North Berwick Christmas Lights Committee are currently planning for the Christmas Lights Switch On event to go ahead. However unlikely this may seem at this stage, we would rather 'prepare to fail, than fail to prepare' as the saying goes. We are happy to put the work in and scrap the plans at the last minute as we believe that this year in particular, our community will benefit from some festive cheer. One thing is for certain, the lights will be going up and will be switched on whether we can have a real life gathering or potentially, a virtual one.
North Berwick Christmas Lights are funded entirely by donations. Our costs include, the costs of the switch on event itself, presents, refreshments etc as well as costs for the lights; maintenance and replacement, the purchase of new lights as well as other mandatory charges such as event fees charged by East Lothian Council, safety testing, fitting and removal, etc. Not forgetting of course the towns Christmas tree!!
