North Country MOH Operation Center

Tax deductible
My name is Jameson, I'm 17, a junior at Ballston Spa High School and I am hoping to raise much needed funds for the North Country Mission of Hope's (NCMOH) Operation Center.

Why the North Country Mission of Hope?
While researching organizations, this seemed to be the one I would get the most out of in terms of making a difference.  Also, my dad's company Trans Border Global Freight Systems in Round Lake, NY has been shipping containers to Nicaragua for the NCMOH for 19 years. When discussing fundraising options, this seemed to be a good fit, as you will see below.

The MOH started shipping goods to Nicaragua 19 years ago, but in order to continue to do this, space is desperately needed to store the products that are collected and sent, as well as office space. They are in the process of purchasing a building, but need financial help in order to make it their place in order to continue their services. In the past, 5 different buldings have been loaned to them, but have since either been torn down or sold and they are in desperate need of a permanent warehouse/office.  They have shipped multiple 40' conatiners every year to Nicaragua that contain critical supplies and medical equipment, clothing, school desks, and many other items of critical need. Everything that is shipped is donated to orphanges, schools, hospitals, and clinics to assist the poor.

Additionally, the NCMOH also collects and delivers to local needs as well, such as veterans in need, victims who have lost their homes from fire, Hurricane Katrina, Superstorm Sandy, and much more.

Fact is that while they ship millions of dollars worth of items to Nicaragua, the majority of what they send would end up in landfills if they weren't a resource for the reuse of those items. Imagine throwing away state of the art medical equipment that is perfectly reusable?

The purchase cost of the building is $140,000 on 8 acres in Peru, NY.  It needs a great deal of repair (about $20,000 worth)and expect ALL labor to be donated.  To date, $104,000 has been donated! That leaves $36,000 left until the building is theirs, but they need your help.

Every year, a group travels to provide aid to the second poorest country in our hemisphere...Nicaragua.  This summer I'm going along with a group of 47 others including highschoolers and college students who I've never met. I will be going for 8 days and will provide 80 hours of service work while I'm there doing things like helping to repair and build homes (because many are without any shelter), as well as schools and hospitals, distribute food to the neediest of families, and to help to improve the quality of life for the people of Nicaragua. Please consider a donation so the NCMOH can continue to do what they do...provide HOPE~

Thank you~
Sincerely,
Jameson Spiegel
