Norma Hughes' Funeral Expenses

With a heavy heart, I ask for your help. My mother, Norma Hughes, passed away Thursday January 4, 2018. She was a single mother who suffered from severe health issues all of her life. Because of her ongoing and constant health issues, she was never in a financial position to acquire life insurance or save for her own burial. As a single mother she raised three children, took care of her grandchildren and always had her door open for anyone who needed help. The family is not in a position to pay for her cremation and funeral services at this time. Funeral Services are only the beginning for our family, we are grieving the loss of an incredible woman who deserves so much more than we can give. My mother was always giving, even when she had nothing, she was giving. She was never able to attain gainful employment due to her health, but she always volunteered her time to those in need. She volunteered at the Salvation Army for many years. She was a long time member at St. Jude’s Catholic Church and a member of the Sodality for many years. She volunteered as an aide for CCD classes at the church, Christmas Bazaars and gave her time whenever she was able. She volunteered countless hours at Garrett Park Elementary where her grandchildren attended. She would go on field trips, work the book fairs, assist in the office and help with recess when she could. My mother was always the type where if she had food for one, she had food for two. She would share and offer whatever she had to give. Anyone who knew my mom, Norma Hughes, knows that she always greeted you with a smile, that she had a huge heart and would help anyone who needed it. Please consider helping our family during this very difficult time. I ask you to please consider a donation towards her funeral expenses which will be handled by Cole Funeral Services.
