Norb Balandis medical and living expenses

As some of you know Norbie fellow Reavis graduate class of 1985 and long time friend to a lot of us was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic prostrate cancer. It’s in his bladder and he has lesions on his femur, skull, shoulder, and ribs.The drug he is taking only slows the progression of the cancer and is costly. This is really putting a strain on his recovery and ability to concentrate on healing and staying strong. It’s too much for him to work. When he can he works 8 hours and it takes him a day to recover. He has been fighting with disability and the union because he is to young to receive his full pension and will have to make it on partial payout. I know in today's world we are all so busy and consumed with our own lives but PLEASE, can we take a minute out of our busy day to stop and Donate every dollar counts. I know Norbie was always there when I needed help and I'm sure he has helped a lot of you with painting and other odd jobs. So can we just take a moment to stop what we are doing and help lift another brother up. I thank you for your time, Norbie appreciates everyone of you, and im sure his family thanks you as well.                                    This is a post from Norb's daughter Caitlyn which really touched me.  It was well said                     As a lot of you know, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer, with mets to his bladder and multiple bones. It is, unfortunately, a terminal diagnosis. We have been trying and fighting to get him on emergency disability, however we haven't won that battle yet and are going through an appeal. He has bills, like we all do, and the bottom line is, he just can't work anymore. The work he does, and the risks that come with that work, are too much for his body. His oncology and urology teams have come up with a combination hormone therapy to suppress (not cure) the cancer for now. While we are very grateful to have found a treatment plan that does not include chemo/radiation, it's not without it's own side effects. It's just not safe for my dad to work, with what some of those side effects are. My family and I have been trying so hard to help him out with whatever we can, but it's just not enough anymore. I'm not the type of person who likes to ask for help, but I will do anything to make sure my dad doesn't have to put any more stress on his body, than is already there. My dad means the world to me and I can't imagine life without him. I've taken this very hard and can't help but place some of the blame on myself for not getting him to the doctor sooner. I will be getting married later this year, and I need my dad to be able to walk me down the aisle, and to dance with me. Not only that, but I know he wants, more than anything, to watch my son grow up and to be able to do all the things a grandpa should do with their grandkids. So please, if you can help my family out, I can't tell you what it would mean to us. The money will be used towards his medical bills and living expenses.
