NOPE Campaign

An open pit gold mine is being proposed along the banks of the St. Mary’s River, near the community of Sherbrooke, Nova Scotia CANADA.   (NOPE stands for No Open Pit Excavation.)
The St. Mary's River Association,  working with partners, have invested over a million dollars on Atlantic Salmon recovery efforts. We have applied for 1.5 million dollar grant from the federal Coastal Restoration Fund to continue this great work. Through stock enhancement efforts we have put in our river:  60,000 salmon fry in the spring of 2017, 170,000 salmon fry in the spring of 2018 and projected another 250,000 for the Spring of 2019.

Funds raised by this campaign will be used to continue conducting the NOPE Campaign in local communities.   We need money for hall rentals for community meetings, office supplies (paper, envelopes, stamps), printing flyers, travel, signs and bumper stickers, hiring third party experts to analyze the project documentation and so on.

Thank you for your support!
