Haircut for Leukemia

Tax deductible
Hi, my name's Ryan, if you don't know me personally, you may know me as 'Ryanosaurus ' or 'Electrocado '. You probably don't know that for the last year, my mum has been going through diagnosis and treatment for Leukemia, which is a long and draining ordeal.  She has been responding well so far to the stem cell treatment.   My family were lucky enough to receive support from the Leukemia Foundation here in Australia, which is a charity dedicated to supporting blood disease research, as well as patients and their families throughout treatment. The Foundation has given my family (and many others)  months of all expenses paid accomodation, right next to the Hospital in Sydney.  When you are based in another city and are constantly going back and forth from the hospital, this is an invaluable resource to have. The Foundation is a charity which survives from personal donations, corporate trust support, and some governmental grants (though no ongoing funding). The apartment that my family has would cost about $500 a week, and once you add the bills and months of living (as well as the 10 other leukeimia families here), the cost and logistics are large, not to mention the rest of the work the Foundation does around Australia. My family are shaving their hair off to support mum, and after having dreadlocks for 1/3 of my life, i've decided to get rid of them too and hopefuly raise some money and awareness in the process for this organisation which contributes a lot of good.  Though my 11 years of dreadlocks could probably be used for medical research themselves; ill cut them off at the end of January. If whoever donates the most is some sort of hair fetish deviant and wants them, ill send them to you. Otherwise i'll make a rasta beanie out of them and put it on mum. I'll also send some music to whoever donates $10 or more. My family has been lucky enough to have decent health insurance for treatment, and to be accepted into the accomodation support program, but there are many others who need it too. Please consider donating something to this organisation so they can keep giving the same opportunities to new famlies who need it, and keep putting money into medical research.
