Noel's Daily 10k for Eddie's Engine

Hi, my name is Noel.

I have decided to undertake a fundraising campaign for a special little Hero, Eddie.

Eddie has attended The Leah Moran Stage School for a number of years now and I have watched him from a distance, he is simply inspirational. I am walking 10km every day for the month of June to support Eddie's medical journey. All donations will be gratefully appreciated by myself, Eddie and his wonderful family.

Eddie's mam, Lisa, explains Eddie's journey to date:

On May 2nd 2013 our baby Eddie was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. For Eddie's first year, he attended Enable Ireland, then we were transferred to NTD. Eddie gets very little public health physiotherapy, therefore we undertake public fundraising to bring him to First Steps Clinic in Limerick.

We were told when Eddie was born that he would never be 'normal' (and whatever 'normal' is.) We were told in no uncertain terms by many doctors and physios that Eddie would never roll over, crawl, sit up or walk. Eddie has defied these odds and reached all these milestones only about a month after his sister and brother did at that age. Eddie has guided us on a journey to have him walking. First Steps has helped with that, he can now walk with aid of a walking frame, something that his future never had - according to Temple Street doctors. We never gave up hope and we will continue to help and support Eddie to reach his mountains and overcome them.

Eddie has a pending surgery and after that he will be attending First Steps in Limerick again to rebuild his leg muscles. The surgery really does take it out of him. All monies raised, every cent will go towards Eddie's appointments in First Steps.
