NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -
Family members have identified the mother and daughter killed Tuesday morning in a New Orleans East triple shooting.
The mother, her daughter and one other woman were shot just before 1 a.m. Tuesday in 14500 block of Duane Road in New Orleans East.
Police arriving on the scene found the three shot inside of a residence.
Walesha Williams, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to family members. Her daughter, 8-year-old Paris Williams, was also shot. Paris was rushed to a nearby hospital where she later died of her injuries.
A third woman, 39, was also shot several times at the scene. Her condition is unknown at this time.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify those responsible for the shooting, as well as a motive.
We as a family need your help. Walesha was only 25 years old. She didn't have any life insurance and as you can imagine this has been a nightmare for our family. We are doing everything in our power to be able to send them home. It doesn't matter if it's a dollar or two. We just need your help. We are asking our community to come together to be able to support Walesha and her daughter Paris.
