Hi, I’m Noah.
I’m 20 years old and a transgender male.
I’m trying to raise money for my top surgery (chest reconstruction surgery).
I started testosterone privately in September 2018, through self-funding.
However, I really hoped to get top surgery on the NHS because it’s SO expensive privately. As of now, I’ve been waiting 2.5 years since first even asking for a referral, and haven’t had my first appointment with an NHS GIC yet. Because it’s taking so long, I probably won’t get top surgery on the NHS for at least another 2 or 3 years.
It’s so important to me that I get this surgery as soon as I can. It will be truly life changing and I genuinely don’t want or need anything else as much as this. I’ve been binding my chest for 3 years already, which is restricting and dangerous. I’m asthmatic and broke my ribs at 14 y/o. This often causes me a lot of pain and I’m unable to bind for long. Getting top surgery will help me not only physically but also mentally, as it will help alleviate my dysphoria greatly.
I have already saved £3k towards this surgery, but need to find another £3.5k for the cost of it + hospital stay & travel etc. I can promise that no money donated will be used for anything but this surgery & the additional costs. I’m a full-time student, and looking for jobs but it’s going to be really difficult save this much money as well as having the funds to live away from home and study.
I really hate having to ask for help, especially when it comes to asking people for money. I never wanted to set this up but I really don’t know how else I’m going to be able to pay for this.
