Noah’s Fight Against Cancer
On May 21, 2021, after a long and painful day at work on assignment at a property in Greenville, NC as I attempted to go to bed I collapsed as my femur (leg) broke. I was rushed back to the same hospital I had previously visited a month earlier and was told nothing was wrong and sent home. This time it was explained that the reason for the fall, break and pain was the tumor which was at the point of the break, had eaten through the bone. The break had also ruptured the cancer tumor making it difficult to remove. I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma cancer. This is a rare bone cancer. Finding out this news was extremely tough to process but because of my faith I knew that this was a battle that God would have the final say. I am asking for help through this journey because I am not able to do it alone. My journey consists of chemotherapy for 12 weeks followed by reconstruction surgery on my leg (partial femur, hip and socket replacement and tumor removal) then 17 more weeks of chemotherapy all at Moffitt in Tampa. All of my chemotherapy treatments are for 3-5 days long making them all in patient. My parents transport me to and from Tampa often staying with me when possible at the hospital. I have zero weight bearing limit on the one leg because it is still broken therefore I am 75% of the time in pain or uncomfortable. I am now on an unpaid leave of absence and therefore as expenses continue to mount such as the deductibles and prescriptions, I need help. So today I’m asking for any amount you are able to give.
