No Need Among Us

Tax deductible
Since the beginning of Rent Sons, our mission has been to meet all our Neighbor’s needs through their local community. We believe now is the time to step up and help those seriously impacted by COVID-19.

There's a story in the Book of Acts from 2000 years ago that talks about a time where people were so generous with their local community that there "was not a needy person among them."(Acts 4:34). Regardless of your religious beliefs, we believe the image of not one of our Neighbors suffering from practical needs during COVID-19 is what we all want to see.

Today, we have an opportunity to say that same phrase again.

The 501-C3 "Heart and Hands International" is hiring Rent Sons to do errand runs for those that can't leave their homes. People can pay for the service by "donation only" to pay what they can or even pay it forward to a Neighbor in need. Rent Sons is paying the "Sons" and "Daughters" (errand runners) above their normal rate to subsidize their income and provide many jobs to those that have been laid off due to COVID-19.

This Gofundme is specifically to raise funds to continue to pay it forward by giving work to someone that needs it and run errands for those that can't afford it.

Join us until there is no need among us.

Here are some stories of our Neighbors who were helped so far:

“I received a call last Thursday night from a woman who has MS and whose family has been unable to help her do things she normally would do. She barely started speaking when she broke down in tears. ‘I’m sorry, I’m usually better than this’, she said. I assured her that all of us have been affected by this pandemic and that she did not have to apologize. We scheduled a job to help her get the trash and dozens of boxes that have been piling up out of her house and to do the dishes that were beginning to overflow. This is why Rent Sons exists.”

Hello Andrew -

I am THRILLED with the Rent Sons coronavirus errand running program.

I've used RS for several projects over the past few years and have always appreciated the service (I do a lot of special event work in RI), so this additional service is a complete Godsend for those of us who are over 60, with medical issues who are self quarantining right now.

I have set myself up with PeaPod for most of my grocery needs, along with Pat's Pastured for fresh produce and meat, but there are other items that I can't get delivered to my home, so Rent Sons is the perfect service to fit those needs. Michael ran to Dave's marketplace with a small list of items I wanted, then to Home Depot to get some topsoil so that I can get my summer garden started, and finally to Dunkin Donuts to pick up fresh bagels and coffee for myself and my husband. He dropped them off at my front door, picked up his tip in an envelope taped to the door and waved goodbye. I couldn't be more pleased!

I have posted on my neighborhood and town social media pages about the service, along with a link to the site on my personal page, and people have been asking me about it. I anticipated you'll get some activity from it.

I have also gone on your homepage (yesterday) and sent a donation to the fund ($50) and hope others will do the same. I hope you know how grateful I am for the services you provide, both in the past and during these trying times.
I'm not exaggerating when I say you've been a lifeline and I look forward to working with you many times over the coming months.

Gratefully,
Nancy
