No Heat In The Outreach Center

In 2003 we opened the Healing Waters Outreach Center in Central Arkansas to have a physical presence in the neighborhood where so many of the youth and families we work with actually live. Healing Waters started out serving a handful of families through its food pantry and clothes closet. Since 2013, Healing Waters is now serving over 26,000 people per year. In addition to the food pantry, which now provides an average of 190 food boxes to area families every Sunday, we also serve a home cooked lunch in our Café for 180-250 people; meals are also provided for 30-50 youth and senior adults during the week.  26 Organization and Ministries are also being served around the State through our center. These ministries are currently supported through private donations and purchasing arrangements with our neighborhood Edwards Food Giant, Pizza Hut, Little Ceasar's, Panera Bread partners. When families come to the food pantry/café, they are given a free coupon to “spend” (or save for big ticket items) in our in-house thrift shop that is supplied by donations from two area Wal-Marts and Feed The Children, Federal Express. Shoppers can select from items of clothing, detergent, house wares, school supplies, diapers, toys, and personal hygiene items, as well as larger items like bicycles and lawnmowers.
Your Donation will help us to replace all 5 of our heater/AC units that are no longer in working condition. Our last unit went down today (12/4/2017) and cold weather is coming tomorrow.  We need the funds to purchase 5 units at $6,000.00 at piece.  The AC company had to shut off our last one due to a hole in the heater core.
