No cure No care for Gastroparesis

Hello my name is Welshie. Firstly I would like thank you for taking the time to read my story. It is not in my nature to ask for help from others but with the encouragement from friends I have taken their advice and decided to open up and ask for help.

I became very ill in 2019. After several visits to the Dr and the hospital with very little success. I have lost 10st and Dr's do not seem to care. One Dr has diagnosed me with gastroparesis while another Dr tried to convince me it was all in my head but you don't get to over 18st with having issues with food! I really enjoyed my food and baking for friends and even entering baking competitions. I haven't been able to eat and drink without sever pain since October 2019. One nice Dr did listen to me and put in a feeding tube to stop my weight from deteriorating faster but I feel I am lacking quality of life. I use to be such a busy person, walking dogs, running 5k for charity, running around the park with my nieces and nephews and going swimming with them.

Now that I am in a stable condition there is a chance I may be able to eat and drink with the help of gastro botox. But before that I unfortunately need my gallbladder removed because I have gallstones. I am needing £8000 to get my gallbladder removed and for the gastro botox. I am trying my best to save but I have had to cut down my work as I am exhausted from just doing basic tasks. I sleep downstairs in my living room as I can not get up the stairs at night. I also nap a lot during the day as I feel very tired and weak. This isn’t covered on the NHS and no one seems to be helping me so I have had no choice but to try and go private to improve my quality of life and save it.

When I try and eat or drink I get chronic abdominal pain, I end up crying and screaming in pain on the floor while my body vomits and shakes. My blood sugar levels get so low I sometimes have a hypo and because I can't eat or drink ( I can't simply just drink a sugary drink or eat a bit of chocolate I am not diabetic), this is just one of many things I have to deal with on a daily basis. I also bleed a lot so I constantly have to change my underwear, pads, clothing and bedding. Having ulcers in my intestines from the constant vomiting is also extremely painful.

I often phone friends and they comfort me as best they can but they themselves get very upset at seeing me in such pain. There is no cure for gastroparesis but getting my gallbladder removed will help ease some of the pain and discomfort I am constantly in.

Diolch, thank you so much for your time. And if you able to donate I would be so grateful and if you can also have a slice of cake for me that would also be fantastic
