I never saw too many instances of a quality life for those around me while I was growing up in the Englewood neighborhood on the Southside of Chicago. To encourage myself to aim higher than my surroundings, I would find sanctuary in meaningful books and documentaries about entrepreneurs who helped by changed the world. Through these accounts of sheer innovation sparked my passion for entrepreneurship.
At the tender age of eleven, I began to think about what I could do to help change the world. Through my reflections, I determined a few things: ONE, I wanted better for myself and my family; and TWO, I needed to serve as a different sort of role model than what my neighborhood had offered. The drive that I had as a kid translated into my ambition to launch a startup called: MobiMall.
MobiMall is a platform-based solution that allows a consumer to have their ultimate shopping experience in the palm of their hand. While studying at Georgetown University, I brought together a team of like-minded individuals to help realize this goal and now we are in a position to efficiently seize our opportunity.
MobiMall will be attending the South by Southwest (SXSW) Tech Conference in Austin, Texas beginning on March 13th, and we need your support to make this happen. At SXSW, we will be pitching our business to cohorts of angel investors and venture capitalists seeking their next investment opportunity.
We are fundraising $2,000 to assist with our transportation costs from Chicago to Austin, so that we can:
1. Fulfill our meetings with venture capitalists & angel investors
2. Establish partnerships with start-ups that may fit into our strategy
3. Build our portfolio of fashion retailers to highlight through our company
Help my team achieve the first step towards our business goal of launching a product that you desire! Each donated dollar will serve as a promise from MobiMall to you, the team and my 11 year-old self that visualized this dream years ago.
