Meet Mash– 57 years old - vibrant, energetic, in the prime of his life and an individual who lives every moment to its fullest. He is loved by all who know him. Mash has the biggest heart and embraces life with both hands. He is a person to be admired both for his ability to always make those around him smile and his great passion and talent for music, A professional talented drummer, Mash transferred his passion into a life spent dedicated to his art.

Sadly, in November of 2017 Mash suffered an amputation of his left leg due to gangrene from an infection made worse by Type II Diabetes. Unfortunately, this was only the beginning of the problems Mash and his family have faced over the past 10 months. Mash has been fitted for a prosthetic leg but due to his medical issues, has been unable to even walk since November. He is bed-ridden and can not work.
To say it’s been a hard road would be something of an understatement. Since the amputation, Mash’s life has changed drastically, and his health has rapidly declined. He’s undergone a triple bypass due to Congestive Heart Failure; had lung problem, had two veins replaced in his right leg and half of his right foot has been amputated because of further infection. Mash has Chronic Kidney Disease and his kidneys are failing. Though he is in line for a kidney transplant, the waitlist is 8 to 10 long years!
He could really use support to help pay for his exhaustive list of medicines that are not covered by insurance and to help pay for the expenses of a care giver. Sadly, insurance just provides a person for basic cares, and pays only a portion of the medicine. He requires 22 medications daily, is on a constant IV and must have special life-saving shots each week. Without these shots his hemoglobin levels fall to deadly levels.
there are certain things the help of an RN ,PT and OT, to come to the house to assist ,Insurance will not pay for this and they’ve had to pay out of pocket. Expenses add up daily.
Mash is exploring options to have some of his medicine paid for by signing him up for clinical studies and medical trials. One such trial studies the body’s response to the needs of normalizing hemoglobin levels in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease. If he can get into this trial,
If mash finds a kidney donor it would be life-saving!
Please contribute what you can to help Mash and his family continue to pay for his medication. He needs them to continue his healing process. With your help, Mash will soon be up and walking!
All the funds raised will be sent directly to Mash and Paris as the beneficiaries of this campaign. The funds will be used for treatment, medication and medical care as well as all associated expenses his requires for day to day living expenses while Mash recovers.the amount of your donation is secondary to the amount of people who respond to his plea even the smallest of support. So please help us achieve the goal.
