Puppy needs surgery to end pain!

Donation protected
Beau has had his surgery, but we still need to finish raising the funds to pay the wonderful veterinarians who helped him. The surgery could not wait so they agreed to go ahead with it in good faith. Please do continue to spread the word! We still need $800 to cover his costs. Thank you to everyone who has been helping!!

Beau is a beautiful, sweet and giant puppy who desperately needs surgery. This lovely mastiff mix is only 8.5 months old, but already weighs 101lbs. Beau had been living with a local homeless gentleman until he was signed over to our rescue the evening of 3/1. Beau had been struck by a fast moving car which left him unable to use his rear leg. With no money to bring him to the vet, and believing that it may heal on its own, his dad did not seek medical treatment . The authorities told his dad that if he did not seek the needed help for him he would be fined/ possibly imprisoned for cruelty to animals. I work for a non-profit animal rescue and 10 days after the accident, we received a call asking if Beau could be surrendered to us as his former dad was not in a position to meet his needs. Although we are constantly needing to fund raise to provide for the animals already in our care, we very much wanted to help this sweet dog that the staff has watched growing up from afar.

The very next morning I brought Beau to the vet and his x-rays revealed that not only is his femur completely fractured in two, this loving dog also has several sharp bone shards that had splintered off. This stoic puppy has already been enduring this pain for 10 days, without letting on the severity of his injury to others.

We VERY much want to help him ASAP so he does not have to keep waiting in pain, but we realistically need to ask for help in order to do so.  We were initially attempting to raise the funds without involving Milo which we feared would take away from the donations needed for our little girl Crystal, who needs surgery in BOTH legs. With the generosity of Milo donors, Crystal has met her listed goal. We were able to raise a large potion of the cost for Beau's surgery , but we still have a ways to go and his surgery is scheduled for Monday! We are now hoping that Milo suporters will help us to get the rest of the way.

We have found wonderful veterinarians who are going to operate to save Beau's leg at a discounted cost, but we still have to raise the rest of the funds ASAP so we are not indebted to them.  We initially thought that the leg may have to be amputated, but with the kindness of these veterinarians and monitary donations from folks like you, we are keeping our fingers crossed that Monday, Beau will begin his road to recovery...with a metal plateboth legs

You can make a donation here or by calling Yokayo Vet Hospital during regular business hrs to make a donation to the Milo Foundation account. Please feel free to private message Jack Phoenix for info on other ways to donate. Thank you and here's to many many pain free years ahead for this wonderful boy!
