NL Dixie MS Landscape Project

The Dixie Middle School Student Government and the students in the Horizon Gifted program are joining forces to beautify the exterior of their middle school so that it better reflects the academic excellence currently being demonstrated inside the building.  Community members and stakeholders both value and support the education of the community’s youth as evidenced by their support of levies, school supplies and curricular needs.  However, with meeting the educational needs of students being a focus in our district, money is seldom available for aesthetic projects such as this Landscape project.   Having very few plants and trees surrounding the middle school, our building is sorely lacking in curb appeal.  Fortunately, these two student leadership groups want to continue the community mindset of support and initiate a building-wide landscaping project to make their school an even more inviting place in which to learn.  This Landscape project provides an exciting opportunity for students, staff and community members to share their pride and to work collaboratively in improving the outward appearance of Dixie Middle School!
