Hello! My name is Shaun, can you help me out? 

I am 22 years of age and I am seeking assistance to get top surgery. 

I recently made the decision to finally tell everyone in my life that I am a man. Coming out publicly is one of the most profound moments of my life to date. 

Top-surgery is one of many gender affirming surgeries that trans people may choose to undergo. It is a surgery performed on the chest for those who wish to alter their chest appearance.

Top-surgery is something I have wanted since before I had the language to describe it. As a child I would wear males clothes and hide myself. I hated buying bras and would squish what I could into a sports bra that was too tight in order to try and fit in with the guys in sporting teams.

I bind every day. It is uncomfortable, and I don’t want to have to keep struggling to breathe.

Binding is something that I do to try and alleviate the dysphoria of having a chest, but with it brings complications. From time limits, to possible injuries,cost, breathing and many more. 

I am running this campaign to try and aid in the costs of surgery and if there’s any leftover, aftercare. This will include dressings and revision, as well as the fact I won’t be able to work for an extended period of time.
