Help Richard Get Better

Just before New Year’s, Richard was in a serious bicycle accident. He fractured both his collar bones, has three fractured ribs, a punctured lung and a concussion. He is in rough shape, but should make a recovery according to the medical staff.

Unfortunately, he is on a fixed income and is rapidly depleting his savings to pay for the medical bills, particularly being in the ICU. The bills are adding up faster than we can keep up with. We are reaching out for help so he can keep receiving treatment and make a full recovery.

We (Steve and Chantal, Richard´s kids) have traveled to Thailand to be with him in this critical moment and to make sure he is being properly cared for. Steve will stay in Thailand to take care of Richard while he recovers. Chantal will go back to the US to help with the finances.

We are so grateful to Richard’s friends here in Udon Thani, they have been immensely helpful in getting us set up here, as well as watching over Richard before our arrival. Had it not been for them, we would have been completely in the dark.

This is especially difficult for us because we lost our mother to cancer at the end of 2016. Unfortunately, we find ourselves in this uncomfortable position of asking for help from friends and strangers again. We appreciate any help at all, including just sharing this with other people.

We understand that not everyone will be able to contribute financially and we appreciate the kindness and compassion that we are receiving.
