My dear friends and friends of my dear sister, Nita,
I am writing to inform you that Nita was just diagnosed with a lung tumor. We are not certain yet if it is cancer. She has been suffering with a cough for almost a year. Our recent trip to the Philippines took its toll on her. We thought it was just the excitement of the vacation, along with a flu bug we all got in Manila.
But it was more than that. When we returned home, three days later she ended up in the hospital with a collapsed lung. After tests results returned, we still thought it was due to an Asian flu. The doctors gave her medication, and she faithfully took them. But she wasn't getting better.
After 2 months away from her beloved congregation and 'kids' in Xalapa she was able to return. But the flight home was hard on her. She promised the doctors in Rosarito that she would go directly to a pulmonologist. There she had another CT scan. This time they were able to see a 5cm tumor in her right lung.
Dear friends. She has valiantly tried to pay her own costs of medical attention, which included 3 CT scans, X-rays, 5 days of hospitalization, medication and travel. She's had to do it by way of Visa cards.
She has so much more to go, in hopes of a recovery. We are asking our friends for help to cover some of her expenses. Anyone who knows her knows she would never want to burden her friends. But the time as come to reach out for help and the time is urgent in order to get this under control.
