Hi, my name is Nina. I have struggled with health issues for the past 4 years and found out this summer that I have a disease called hyperparathyroidism. I lost my job due to covid at the beginning of this year and I have been living the best I can off of unemployment. I had to borrow money for surgery ( which was done the end of July to remove tumors) because I lost my insurance along with my job. I have since been using covered California for insurance which didn't cover any of my surgery or it's expenses. I still owe my friend for the surgery...and I am trying to pay off pathology bills, blood work bills and the surgery center where the surgery was done. I am unable at this point to pay my bills and rent and am struggling to pay what I can, when I can as best I can. A couple of weeks ago I had bloodwork done and all of my numbers have raised again and my surgeon is worried I may have another tumor that was missed which would require another operation. I am hoping and praying that will not be the case. 3 parathyroid glands were removed in my neck due to tumors during surgery. ( You can see my new scar on my neck in the picture). I have continued to struggle with excruciating bone pain ( this caused me to have severe osteoporosis) and I am unable to work until this is resolved and I am healthy again. Standing and walking are even difficult for me at this time. This disease causes havoc and destroys the major organs in the body as well as the bones. I am trying to stay positive but I am extremely stressed out regarding losing my place to live because I am unable to pay my rent and these medical bills. And most importantly, my health has to be addressed. I feel very blessed and grateful that I have the opportunity to heal physically from this in time. I just need some help getting there. If anyone is able and or willing to give even a little, I will be eternally grateful. Thank you so much for reading. Blessings to all.
