NICU, Pedi, and PICU Christmas Care Packages

Hello everyone! My name is Alicia Powell, and I used to work as a labor and delivery nurse at UMC, but now work as Dr. Amber Coon’s Nurse Practitioner at UMC Physicians. With the help of our amazing community, we have raised nearly $6000 in 2019 and 2021 for Christmas care packages that brought cheer to nearly 50 families admitted to NICU during the holidays. It brought so much joy to the families (as well as the staff) that we would like to make this an annual giving opportunity. And this year? We are adding the pediatric ICU and the pediatric unit as well!! Our care packages have provided family support in the form of restaurant gift cards for Christmas delivery (bedside), journals, tumblers, snacks, donated gifts from prior patient families, handwritten notes from staff, and newborn products. This year, we want to provide this support for our pedi families as well. Our mission is to make their Christmas merry, despite having to spend it within hospital walls. Please help us make this a reality in 2022. We are accepting all donations, monetary as well as actual product to include in nearly 100 care packages this year. We plan to have the gifts completed by December 20, and will have the care packages dispersed on Christmas Eve for pedi units, and Christmas Day for NICU.
