Nick's Medical Treatment Fund

Hi all- let me preface by saying that anyone who knows me, well or otherwise, know that I absolutely hate asking for help. It's in my nature to take everything in stride and support myself without the help of others. It's been an incredibly humbling experience to fall very short of being able to handle my own emergency medical expenses and have to reach out to my community for help. Although I am embarrassed and uncomfotable, I need help and I'm learning I need to ask for it. So the backstory: living in an old SF Victorian, i have beautiful glass antique door knobs. So charming, right? Except when one morning, I turned my door knob to enter my room and it shattered into a million pieces, severely cutting my hand and finger open. The cut partially knicked and created a serious infection in the tendon of my left pointer finger, and I had to seek medical attention. Though I have insurance through Kaiser, the costs after insurance are nearing $2000, not to mention having to take time off of work, arrange transportation, the physical therapy that is inevitable and future hospital visits. I am already so, unspeakably, grateful for any support at all from y'all, and I thank you all so much for your words of encouragment and love. This isn't easy at all for me, in fact I'm filled with dread by the idea of having to ask my beloved community for monetary support. Y'all mean the world to me, and I'm grateful to you every day.
