Nick Manko
Donation protected
My nephew Nick Manko came to my home in excruciating pain 3/21/18 asking me to take him to the ER for neck pain. After arriving at the ER blood work and a sonnogram were done. His white blood cell count was extremely high indicating there was a serious infection in his body. He had an abscess that encompassed the entire back of his neck. He was admitted to the hospital and given antibiotics via IV. Emergency surgery was performed 3/22/18 to remove the infected area. The doctor said a couple more days without treatment would have been fatal. Nick will not be able to work for sometime as a heavy equipment operator due to the open wound. Unfortunately he doesn't have health insurance nor will receive any income while he is recovering. Nick's 12 year old son lives with him and depends on his fathers income to survive. Nick also requires a Veraflo Therapy device that facilitates removal of thick wound exudate, such as fibrin, slough and other infectious material from a variety of complex wounds. This machine costs $65 per day and is necessary for this complex wound to heal. Nick will be hospitalized for at least a week. All donations regardless of the amount are appreciated.
