Nick Lumsden & Becky Lumsden

My name is Brittany Malatesta-Lumsden, my family and I are trying to raise money to help my mom during this hard, and struggling time. My father Nick Lumsden came down with the Flu last Monday 4/2/18 was told to take his antibiotics things will get better, well things began to become a lot worse for him by Tuesday.. he became delirious, confused, and started to hallucinate, and was also having a hard time breathing. My mother (Becky Lumsden) rushed him in to the ER at Providence in Medford. My fathers oxygen was dropping and wasn’t allowing nurses to help him because he was so ill and confused, the Providence team decided to put him an induced coma to help keep him safe and be able to heal. The Medford Providence team also felt they did all they could do and could no longer do anymore for my father and he now needed to be flown to the Portland Providence hospital where he could be put on a machine (ECMO) to help his lungs heal, him heal. So far we are at week 1 of this machine and it has helped but we are also dealing with our ups and downs as were predicted. The Dr. explained to us that when my dad came to them he was on his death bed.. He had heart failure, right collapsed lung, oxygen level was at 52 (When’s it’s suppose to be anywhere from 90-100) shocked organs, kidney failure, liver shock, you name it he was going through it.. He has the H1N1, pneumonia, and Staf infection that spread throughout his whole body. My father is still in critical condition and we still don’t know if he will make it out of all this, but we are hoping and praying EVERYDAY for the best. He has a very long road ahead of him. He’s still in the ICU on machines helping him stay alive. All that my family asks for is prayers and any donation if possible! Anything helps during this time! My mom won’t tell anyone she needs help or say she’s struggling, she will tuff it out but we all know she needs all the help she can get during this time while she’s in Portland everyday by my fathers side, hoping, praying, and staying strong for him! So please if you can let’s help my parents during this traumatic time raise the money they need to pay there mortgage, health insurance, and medical expenses. Thank you all for your prayers and help!
