Nick C’s medical fund

First, I thank you for taking the time to read this. I am not one to ask for help, which is a fault cancer is challenging me to deal with. As most of you know, I’ve been in a 10 year battle with an incurable blood cancer, Multiple Myeloma. The expense of fighting cancer cleared my bank accounts years ago, but one organization, the LLS, has helped me with health insurance and pain medicne costs of about $500.00per month.  That is, up until September 2017 when they ran out of funds. They didn’t notify recipients that this would happen and many of us were caught by ‘surprise’ when the funding ended.  Unfortunately, when I signed up this year for a medical plan, I chose the best (and consequently, the most expensive one) policy I could get because LLS was going to pay for it.  Unfortunately,there was no prior notice that the fund was empty, so even with good planning, I could not have avoided this result.

As a consequence of the above, I am simply unable to make the premium payments due on my insurance from the last four months of the year.  All told, I will need an additional $2;000.00 to the end of the year to make up for the lost LLS funding this year.  Next year I will not purchase a policy that requires outside funding. But this year I need some help, lest my insurance policy gets cancelled and I wind up with even greater debt that I can’t afford.
