In an effort to support the organizational costs associated with relaunching the new NH Dog Walking Club, we are raising funds vs. borrowing.
Covid hit the pet industry hard
Like many industries, the Covid crisis hit the pet industry hard. It Takes a Village Pet Care shut down in March during the shelter in place order issued by the Governor. At that time, all 13 team members were laid off. When we reopened on June 1st, it was at 25% capacity. Clients were now working from home and no longer traveling so their pet care needs decreased.
A light at the end of the tunnel...
Even though events were cancelled for several months in the Dog Walking Club, dog owners were adopting and rescuing in record numbers and seeking educational resources through our Club.
We remain strong!
We have worked hard to pivot, offer new services, test new ideas, explore partnerships and collaborations, and bring back as many team members as possible. Thanks to support from clients, friends, and our network, our tiny village is hanging in there. We are grateful!
History of the Dog Walking Club
The Dog Walking Club , which launched in December 2018, was a community outreach effort of It Takes a Village Pet Care located in Barrington, NH. Over the past few years, we have offered dog lovers educational programming, in-person walks/hikes, and fun outings and activities at no charge. In addition, we have raised awareness and funds for charitable partners . The feedback and support from members has been amazing!
Looking forward to a bright future
The Club, which has had a free membership model since it was established, will now change to a paid model. A paid membership model will allow us to be sustainable as well as reach and support more dog owners throughout NH.
Please help us reach our goal
Over the past several months, we have been busy researching and developing our new concept for the NH Dog Walking Club. We have also packaged our "community club" method into a Masterclass and Membership to help other pet pros around the country establish a Club in their communities. This has brought in some additional funds to help support the company and team.
On March 20, 2021, our goal is to launch a new website. The website will offer resources for dog owners, a calendar of events and unique activities, educational programming with local and national experts, and our P.A.W.S. Trail - dog training success path.
The funds raised will help pay for the new website, intro video, insurance, printing of t-shirts, employee hours, achievement badges, and additional operating costs.
