NGPDF - Support For Young Golf Players of Color

A little over a year ago, I was watching a collegiate golf tournament in which there were very few young players of color participating. I know the reasons for this are varied, but what if an organization was created to directly address removing some of the hurdles that create this situation? I decided it was time to make a difference and find out "What If."

National Golf Player Development Foundation (NGPDF), a registered 501c3 Not For Profit was created to provide unprecedented funding and resource assistance to programs and/or individuals that offer skill development and playing opportunities for young people of color and connect them to premier experiences in competitive golf. Currently, the cost to the family of a competitive male or female golfer of color ranges from $20K to $60K annually. NGPDF seeks to significantly elevate the playing ability of young people of color by providing financial resources and skill development support services to address the cost of equipment, instruction, travel, tournament fees, ongoing player development costs, etc. NGPDF will provide a platform that fosters partnerships that promote a player's skill development.

Thousands of golfers wonder how they can make a difference and support a young person of color to play this game on a competitive basis. A donation of minimally $50- $100 dollars annually would go a long way toward our goal. You could donate $10 to this page every time you play a round of golf this year. Your local club can donate. You can make an annual donation and have your company match that donation if your company has an employee charitable match program. The opportunities are endless. The young people that are, and will be, part of the NGPDF will benefit immensely from your generosity and will be extremely appreciative.
