Support Michael and his family

Michael is one of the most positive, kind-hearted, and loving people I have ever met. We, as a community at ERAU Prescott, wanted to set up this account in order for people to show their support to Michael and his family. All funds will fully go to Michael not only to support him through his recovery and rehabilitation, but also to support his family at such a difficult time.

Michael is currently recuperating from serious injuries he received after being struck by an automobile on January 24 in Memphis, TN., where he is enrolled in a co-op with FedEx.  After surgery on his legs, the Doctors are hopeful Michael will be able to start rehabilitation to walk in about 3 months.

Michael recently received word confirming the death of his father. Dr. John Opara was abducted last week at his private hospital at D-Line in Port Harcourt, Nigeria (Michael's hometown). Dr. Opara’s body was discovered at a cassava farm in Port Harcourt yesterday morning.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Michael and the Opara family for their tragic loss, and at an already challenging time for Michael. We also extend our sincere wishes for a full and speedy recovery for Michael.
