Newlyweds Home Lost to Florence

Donation protected
To say this year has been tough for my brother and his wife is an understatement.  After getting engaged last year, Zac and Brandy started looking for their future home together for them and their children.  They got pre-approved for a home loan, and a beautiful house began to be built for them, set for completion in February 2018.  As their lease came to an end in their apartment building in February, they began preparing for the move into their new home.  Two weeks before they were to move in, the builders pushed the date to March.. then April.. then May.  As they were out of a lease for their apartment, they had to move about an hour away from their places of work, into Brandy's parent's home while they waited for the home to be complete.  They got married in March 2018, and spent their first 3 months of marriage in separate beds since the house completion date kept getting delayed.  The night before they were set to close on their home in May, the lender called and said they were backing out of the loan, not even 12 hours before they were to move in.  For the next week, Zac and Brandy tried everything they could to get the loan to work for the home they had been dreaming of for months.  Unfortunately, it did not work out, and they were left without a home.  For the next 2 months after that, they searched for other homes.  At the end of July, they finally found a home, got approved for a loan, and moved in.  They quickly began refurbishing as they finally got to start their lives together as newly weds.  My brother, his wife, and the kids fell in love with their forever home.

"Forever" quickly came to an end as Florence came not even 2 months after they moved in.  Now, as you can see in the picture, their home, and all of their belongings, are underwater.  They have nothing left.  As they did not live in a flood zone, they were not required to have flood insurance, another unfortunate detail of this painful story .  My brother Zac is the hardest working man I know, and he married Brandy who is just as equally hard working.  They have remained patient and resilient throughout this extremely trying year.  They are heartbroken, as are our families.  Please, if you can help at all, it would mean the absolute world to our families.  If you are not able to give financially, please take the time to share this.  Thank you for your time.
