Retired FA Loses All in Xmas Eve Fire

My name is Debbie Kandoll Wilson, and I am honored to put together this fundraiser for my Sister-in-Wings Helena Suikkari and her family. Here’s what happened:

Around 11:45 on Christmas Eve, recently retired 23 year FA Helena Suikkari was preparing to celebrate Christmas Eve dinner with her family. Among the very special visiting family members were her 90 year old mother and her brother from Finland. Suddenly, there was a frantic pounding on the front door and neighbors were screaming, “Get out! Your house is on fire!” Humans and pups quickly vacated as the fire engines roared up on the now fully engulfed house. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown, however speculation is perhaps faulty electric wiring. The house is fully destroyed as is Helena’s vehicle. What the fire did not obliterate, the water and structure parts caving in did! Almost everything cherished and familiar is gone, but today this amazing family was able to say…and mean… “Merry Christmas…still!” Helena and her husband Tomi are bright lights in this world who have quietly loved and helped so many! This is our chance to say “Thank you, and we love you!” All funds will be going directly into Helena’s account, and there will be no middleman in this unbelievably important fundraiser for their well-being as they begin the long and difficult recovery process from this tragedy.

There is insurance, but as many of you know…initial needs are many: shoes, clothes, medicines, toiletries and many other daily things we just take for granted. If 10,000 of us gave just $2.00 EACH, we would make their lives SO MUCH EASIER!
