New Life Nyambene Land Appeal

New Life Nyambene  is a charity that has been working in Maua, in the Nyambene region of Kenya, for over 16 years, to rescue abandoned street children and give them access to a life-changing education.

Our mission is to support abandoned, orphaned, homeless children in Kenya to rebuild their lives. We give street children not just the basic learning they need to survive, but the further education, employability skills and social entrepreneurial training that helps them thrive and give back to their society. By supporting street children with long term care and a sense of belonging, we enable them to recover from the emotional and physical trauma they have suffered from their early years of homelessness.

So far we have supported 50 street children, 32 of whom are currently in our care and the others have become independent and employed adults.

Because of problems encountered with the previous manager, we had to move the children from the site we owned to a temporary refuge and we have now won a lengthy legal process to regain the land from this corrupt manager who had forged documents with the intention of stealing the land. We can now return and take full ownership; however there are financial implications that we have not been able to avoid.

So this appeal is to raise the money to take the children back home and restore the buildings which have fallen into disrepair.
