On March 1, 2018 this earth said an abrupt and too soon goodbye to Jeff Newell...husband, father, son, brother, pastor, missionary, friend....all around wonderful human.
He is survived by his wife, Tanya and two teenaged daughters, Kyra and Jayden, who need our help so that the three of them can stay focused the very important work of grieving, healing and adjusting so they can move forward and into the days ahead without stress or struggle.
Most recently Jeff was the highly regarded and beloved children's pastor at Oak Hill Baptist Church but he has been involved in church and mission work his entire life. The enthusiasm, joy and gift he had of sharing God's word with youth was unmatched and will be missed by everyone. Prior to moving to Georgia, the Newell's lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he was also a children's pastor. Jeff spent his formative years in Mission Viejo, California and attended college at the University of Arizona, where he and Tanya met in the mid 1990's. Jeff and Tanya shared a love and bond like no other. Truly soul mates, yin and yang, best friends.
Jeff enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, riding motorcycles, camping and doing mission work. Jeff had a mission trip planned with his daughters in the summer to Alaska, which Tanya is hoping to be able to move forward with in honor of him.
