From Benedicts to China

We are seven Juniors at St.Benedicts Prep located in the heart of Newark, NJ. This summer we would like to embark on a voyage to China. Unfortunately, during the summer months our city does not offer much to challenge their youth. We are tired of sitting around all summer exposed to the unfortunate dynamics of our community. We want to do something different that will challenge us, so we may return and help to challenge others. Many of us have never been out the country and it wasn't until we befriended a Chinese student at our school named Wei , that this idea even crossed our minds. If we can go to China we would be able to experince life from a different perspective. We would like to visit schools that are different from our own, and bring back what we learn to help with our schools success. The only thing in our way right now is finances. We simply cannot afford the $25,000 trip on our own. Please help us get to our destination in China. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. We cannot do it alone we need your support.
