New Wheelchair for Robin

If you’re friends with Robin Clark, then you’re truly a lucky person.  I met Robin the first year I moved to Charlottesville in ’96.  We quickly became friends because that’s how Robin is.  In talking to Robin this week, I learned he’s getting a new, much-needed power wheelchair. His current powerchair is 11-12 years old and completely worn out. I also learned that these things are crazy expensive and his co-pay alone is almost $6,000! Which is outrageous! This isn’t some special outdoors chair, but his everyday wheels that he has to have.

 I’ve started this GoFundMe page to ask each and every one of you, my friends and the people who know and love Robin, to give a little and help cover the co-pay on this new wheelchair. Robin is much too proud to ask for help for himself, so I’m going to do it for him because he deserves it!

 
If you know him, he’s not like the rest of us, but to be honest, I think he’s better than the rest of us.  For those of you who don’t know Robin, know that he gives unselfishly of his time to help others with disabilities. He visits new spinal cord injured patients at Healthsouth and Woodrow Wilson Rehab, and has built the biggest Wheelin’ Sportsmen program in the country, helping disabled sportsmen get back outdoors. For the last 16 years he’s organized several hundred hunting and fishing events for these folks. This year, he’s putting on over 50 events, and doing it as a volunteer! The number of guys, and girls, he’s helped get back into the outdoors over the years is astounding. So, now it’s payback time! Let’s help give Robin a break from this expensive co-pay and keep him rolling!
