New well for the Burkharts
As most of you know, hardly more than a year ago Ryan & Nadine purchased their first home in NW Iowa and began eagerly getting integrated into their new community.
On Thursday of this past week, Ryan & Nadine got some difficult news that the well on their property that they use for water has dried up. Not only does this costly surprise affect their ability to live in their house on a personal level, but Nadine provides in-home childcare for other families, so it affects their ability to provide care for other families as well.
Last year on their daughter Kennedy's 1st birthday, they asked that everyone donate $1 (because Kennedy was turning 1) instead of giving gifts so that the money could be donated to Charity:Water, a non-profit organization that raises money to dig wells in 3rd world communities to bring fresh, life giving water to people in need. Now, a year later, Kennedy's 2nd birthday party will not be at their home because THEY are in need of a well for clean water.
Ryan & Nadine are incredibly budget conscious people who honor God with how they handle money and love to bless others in any way they can.
If there's one aspect of this amazing young couple that we know to be true, it's that they first turn to God in prayer when they're in need of something. And we believe that we can join together to help answer that prayer for them by showering love on them to help them through this very difficult situation. The estimate they received for digging a new well is around $7,500.
This page is setup by Ryan's brothers, Brett & Brad, in an effort help them weather this storm of unexpected expense. If you are able to give any amount toward helping to dig Ryan & Nadine a new well, it is so graciously accepted. If you are not able to give, please, PLEASE do not feel badly about that. We just want to do what we can to help them through this and we knew that their family and friends would feel the same way.
