New Roof - Correia Teixeira Family

This is Jose Correia Teixeira and Maria Agusta Silva. They have 6 kids, 3 of whom still live at home. They live in Praia, Cape Verde. They are in dire need of assistance to replace the roof of their small home. Pieces of their roof and support beams have already fallen. It's only a matter of time before the roof collapses completely.
Unfortunately, the family has nowhere else to go and continues to live in the home despite the risk. They have gone to the local municipality for help. They have gone to the local media to solicit help from the community. To date no one has stepped up to help them.
Cape Verde is a small island nation off the coast of West Africa. The average wage, if you can find employment, for a basic job is about $150 - $200 U.S. dollars per month for full-time work. Construction materials, like those needed to replace a roof, are expensive as most of it has to be imported.
Jose works in construction. He works as he can find opportunities. However, he suffers lingering effects from a back injury and sometimes is not able to work. Agusta helps by selling candy and other small food in front of her home. It's literally impossible for them to earn, on their own, the money necessary to replace their roof.
The rainy season in Cape Verde is coming in a few months. The rain will, without a doubt, further damage the roof and may even be the "straw that breaks the camel's back". We want to help them replace their roof as soon as possible to keep this wonderful family safe. Please help us to give the Correia Teixeira family a new roof. Thank you.
