New Mommy Grayson-COVID Relief

Hi, I'm Jamie, Grayson's mom...as I sit in Grayson's hospital room, watch life support breath for her and watch her baby on his isolette video feed , I have wondered how I can help them through this trial. Her dad mentioned GoFundMe and a friend asked if she could donate toward medical bills. So I decided to set this up and hope it will give others a chance to help Gray and baby and also help prevent the burden she will feel when she should be able to just focus on getting to know her baby. I hope they may meet and get in all those cuddles they deserve very soon. Thank you for all the prayers and love we have been showered with. We feel them and are so grateful.

Our sweet and feisty Grayson and her baby are fighting for their lives due to COVID. Grayson was going to get vaccinated but was advised by her provider not to because she was pregnant. While she was working as a Shift Manager at a Wendy’s she became infected by a customer. She started showing symptoms on 7/23/21 and tested positive on 7/25/21.

She tried so hard to fight it, but at 34 weeks pregnant, for days Grayson was unable to eat, keep fluids in or her oxygen up. Her body just couldn’t fight on its own and it was discovered that baby stopped growing. On Thursday, August 5th, Grayson’s oxygen saturation plummeted and she was flown by helicopter from Brigham City Community Hospital to Mount Timpanogos Hospital where an ICU bed and a NICU were available. Shortly after arrival, Grayson was taken for an emergency c-section. Her baby was born at 3 lbs 12oz. He had to be intubated immediately and taken to a NICU isolation bed. Due to COVID she was unable to meet and hold her new son.

Grayson is now on life-support and fighting the good fight. Our hearts are broken that she is missing out on all the cuddles and firsts a new mommy should get with her baby. We are missing seeing her experience it all. We pray for her body to heal and wait for the day she may be breathing on her own, sassy and enjoying her son.

Baby boy has been such a shining light throughout this nightmare. He is now breathing room air and fighting like his mommy to get healthy. He gives us so much happiness and hope for a positive future where he will give his mom all the loving sass, she has given us.

If you know Grayson personally, you know she is fiercely independent and that any sort of debt or unpaid bill causes her major anxiety. Grayson is a single mom and with both of them in ICUs and no end in sight, we imagine there will be serious financial hardship. We want Grayson to wake up and be able to meet her baby and focus on him and healing, not how bills will be paid.
